“Wonderful almost beyond words” —The New York Times

Showcasing Old Master paintings that have never before been seen on this side of the Atlantic, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, and Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London affords visitors a unique opportunity to see Rembrandt’s iconic Portrait of the Artist (ca. 1665) and other works that once adorned the home of Edward Cecil Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh and heir to the world’s most successful brewery. The portraits, landscapes, and other large-scale paintings by the greatest artists of their periods, including Anthony van Dyck, Thomas Gainsborough, and J. M. W. Turner, have been housed at Kenwood House, a neoclassical villa in London.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is one of only four venues in the United States to present this selection of forty-eight paintings from the Iveagh Bequest.
