House Policies
To protect the fragile artwork for all to enjoy, the following are not allowed in the Museum:
- Touching the artwork: The oil from your hands is damaging.
- Food, beverages, gum
- Backpacks or large bags: A coatroom and lockers are available for storage.
- Umbrellas
- Pens or markers: Sketching in the galleries is welcome, but with pencil only.
As a courtesy to all visitors, please silence your cell phones.
Please be watchful of small children.
Photography in the galleries is allowed with the following conditions:
- No flash, tripods, monopods or large camera bags
- Only works owned by the Museum in its Collection galleries may be photographed. Refer to the text labels located near each artwork: Museum-owned works will have an accession number (e.g., M1973.01) listed on its label. Please consult a Museum Representative if you are not sure.
- All wedding and portrait photography must be approved by Event Services. Contact Anne Radtke, events coordinator, at 414-224-3279 or anne.radtke@mam.org.

Appraisals/Conservation
The Milwaukee Art Museum is not permitted to conduct appraisals or restoration for the general public.

Donation
If you are interested in donating a work of art to the Milwaukee Art Museum please send the following information for consideration:
- An image of the work
- Object information including: dimensions, medium, framing, mounts, etc.
- Any historical information you have about the work.
