Milwaukee Art Museum--Involved

Garden Club

The Milwaukee Art Museum Garden Club began in 1921 when organizers sought to advance the joys of gardening and its physical, educational, recreational, and aesthetic benefits. Today the Garden Club endeavors to support the Museum with specific projects and acquisitions to further its mission.

Garden Club members promote the fine art of gardening, floral arrangements, landscape design, horticulture, and conservation. Informative programs and workshops are presented at monthly meetings. Major Garden Club programs have included prominent speakers from the gardening world such as Penelope Hobhouse, Rosemary Verey, James van Sweden, Chris Giftos, and Topher Delaney.

The Garden Club is also a presenting sponsor of Art in Bloom, a four-day event held in April featuring numerous floral arrangements inspired by Museum masterpieces, as well as international speakers, workshops, and other floral/garden related festivities.
