Drawing Discoveries Milwaukee Art Museum

Creating with Clay Milwaukee Art Museum

Sculpt your own Chinese-inspired animal figure, make a clay tile, and more—all while learning various hand-building techniques and how to use clay tools.

Instrument and Art Exploration Camp- a collaborative camp with the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music ** and the Milwaukee Art Museum Milwaukee Art Museum

Each morning starts at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music for group instruction on instruments. Each student will rotate learning piano, percussion, harp and musicianship and rhythm skills. At lunch time, students travel from the Conservatory to the Milwaukee Art Museum, to eat and spend time playing the recorder. The afternoon continues with Milwaukee Art Museum staff as kids explore the galleries, create art, and make connections between art and music.

Exploring Painting Milwaukee Art Museum

Use traditional Chinese ink painting brushes and ink and work on both on rice paper and silk. Plus make your own seal for making stamps and learn about symbolism found in Chinese paintings.

Art and Writing Milwaukee Art Museum

This camp is a collaboration between the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Milwaukee Writing Project. Discover ways to connect your love of writing and art! Respond to the Museum’s Collection through writing and hands-on art making, plus make a special journal for your creations. Half the class is spent making art with MAM teachers, and the other half writing with MWP teachers.

To register for classes, call 414-224-3803. Class fees include supplies, unless otherwise noted, as well as admission to the Museum’s galleries on the day of each session. Registration closes five working days prior to class start date. If you cancel 24 hours prior to the first session of class, there is a cancellation fee of 50 percent of the price of the class.
