Ge-o-my! Art and Geometry
Grades 1-3
Search for geometric shapes and discover repetitions, patterns, and tessellations in the Museum’s works of art and architecture. After the docent-guided tour, participate in a hands-on creative experience at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. Students will learn more about tessellations and explore the style of abstract artist M.C. Escher.
This 4-hour program is available Monday through Friday, except Thursday mornings. The one-hour tour at the Museum begins at 10 a.m. and is followed by a bag lunch (provided by the school) at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum; the creative experience at the Children’s Museum begins at 12 p.m. and ends no later than 2 p.m. Groups of 26 or more will rotate activities at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum.
