Milwaukee Digital Media Conference 2010 at the Milwaukee Art Museum
July 27–30, 2010 | 9 a.m.–4 p.m. each day

The Milwaukee Art Museum hosts the 2010 Milwaukee Digital Media Conference. In this unique hands-on collaborative conference, participants will explore how 21st century tools are needed to prepare 21st century learners. Work with instructors from The Stephens Group and the Milwaukee Art Museum to utilize technology in a real world context, share knowledge, network with others and communicate. All comfort levels of technology and teachers of all grade levels are welcome.

Participants will:

• learn about emerging research in using digital media to impact teaching and learning
• explore using real world tools such as vodpodcasting, photo-editing, wikis and digital mapping in a real world context
• work collaboratively to construct knowledge, social network and use emerging technology to communicate information
• actively use 21st century learning skills to meet their knowledge needs

Fees + Credit

Educators can receive two graduate credits as part of the conference. Course work is embedded in the conference activities throughout the week. Tuition will be collected on the second day (July 28th) onsite at the conference. If you took the conference for credit last year, you will be able to retake it. The course is repeatable due to the fact that digital media is an emerging technology that presents new learning opportunities every year.
