Check out the latin jazz, meringue, and salsa stylings of Milwaukee-based Cache at 7 p.m.; the Evan Christian Ensemble takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. DJs from 88Nine Radio Milwaukee kick out the jams before, between, and after the performances.
THEASTER GATES OPENING 5–11 PM
Step into this multimedia exhibition (pottery, a glass lantern slide tunnel, ceramic speakers) that explores craft labor and race in America today. Be engaged by a panel discussion at 6:15 p.m., gallery talks with the curators at 7:30 and 10 p.m., and a one-night-only collaboration between several Milwaukee-based choirs and the Chicago-based Black Monks of Mississippi at 8:30 p.m.
