Campus disruptions

Due to ongoing road construction and scheduled maintenance around the Museum Campus, we want to keep you updated on temporary access changes and traffic impacts that may affect your visit.

Saturday, May 31
Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed in both directions through noon. Highway 794 will also be closed in both directions from Edgerton Avenue north to downtown and west to the Marquette Interchange.

Monday, June 1–Wednesday, June 3
N. Art Museum Drive and the Calatrava underground parking garage will be closed for scheduled maintenance. Museum Center Parking will remain accessible via the entrances on Lincoln Memorial Drive, Michigan Street, and Wisconsin Avenue.

Summer construction updates

As part of the Lakefront Gateway Project, construction around the Museum campus is now underway and will continue throughout the summer.

The first phase of the project includes work on N. Lincoln Memorial Drive from Clybourn Street to Art Museum Drive. Traffic in this area will be reduced to a single lane, and visitors should expect delays during peak travel times. E. Michigan Street and Lincoln Memorial Drive will remain open during this phase. Museum Center Parking will continue to be accessible via the entrances on Michigan Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by mid-June. As always, the Museum remains easily accessible by foot, bike, and public transit.
